In 2019, Stevenson aspired to launch Plucker, planned and positioned himself properly to have the foundations for launching Dec 2020. After months of learning the codes, taking classes, and financial planning, Plucker LLC was launched in Dec 2020! Once launched, the heavy volume and orders caused the app to crash. This was one of the few obstacles Plucker faced. Pushing through the payment system crash, app crash, Stevenson learned a better coding system to withstand the increasing volume of plucker customers and team.

Just starting, over 30 restaurants and local businesses joined Plucker LLC, originally named Pluckershop. Although Plucker LLC had many orders, we had a lack of drivers. Because of the volume of stores and customer orders, Plucker is always hiring more drivers. During a slow drop in sales for a couple of months, Stevenson had to keep motivated by planning other ways to keep Plucker going. Figuring out the needs for the community and what we lacked, how Plucker can be here to make a difference. A few months went by and Stevenson expanded Plucker to deliver anything to customers' doorstep. Food, groceries, laundry, medicine, and more. In June 2021 Plucker have launched their own social media platform called Pluck a black-owned social media platform that rivals Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

Investing in our future: Three N.J. young men honored for their academic success by community foundation and Brian Agnew

ESSEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES, July 31, 2021 / — The Alpha Alpha Lambda Scholarship and Educational Fund, Inc. has awarded scholarships to the winners of the Marion B. Frederick Scholarship. The scholarship program is aimed at male students that excel academically and are also passionate about volunteering and community service. This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating, African-American, male who attends high school in Essex County, NJ.

Typically, one recipient is awarded this scholarship, however, this year the foundation has extended the winnings to include two additional scholarships. All recipients are African American young men, with stellar GPA's, a long history of community service and a deep commitment to academic success. The Marion B. Frederick Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 was awarded to Johnnie Brooker (Saint Peter's Preparatory School, Jersey City –East Orange, NJ resident) and Nolan Lee (Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ). Additionally, the Marion B. Frederick Book Award in the amount of $500 was awarded to Prince W. Appiah (Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark, NJ).

The Foundation has committed itself to investing in young people at all levels. At the heart of everything we do as men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is our commitment to improving the educational performance, self-confidence and life experiences of young black men," said Mark J. Hassell, Chairman of Alpha Alpha Lambda Scholarship and Educational Foundation. When we award our scholarships, it is more than just providing financial assistance to young men, it is a tangible representation of our belief in their abilities and our commitment to helping them achieve future success," he added.

Now back to Sheraz’s specialized home construction projects, the work he put into it proved to revolutionize the field. For starters, Sheraz made a plan he was thinking of for a while, and then set it into motion. Basically, this plan was for him to make specialized homes with specific requirements and modifications that would suit the elderly and disabled’s specific needs. The idea that he came up with consists of, first of all, making modifications to the homes’ plans in order to make the general structure more suitable to the elderly’s walking aid and/or equipment. Sheraz also included specific setups for wheelchairs in case the client uses one. After that, Sheraz went on to decide on the kind of materials that would be used in the houses. For example, the floor is not supposed to be too hard so as to reduce the impact it might have on its elderly owners in case of fall or any other similar accident.

The modifications and material used included way more than just that. As we all know, many elderly people start to develop back problems starting from a certain age, which is why it becomes harder for them to reach anything that is too high or too low. To solve that problem, Mr. Khan put plans to make all the needed cupboards and dressing tables reachable by modifying the general height of all built-in equipment in the house. In a way, that would, for example, even be useful for people with special needs that are unable to reach high areas of the house since that would reduce both the physical and psychological strain that they might develop.

While thinking of the elderly, Mr. Khan also thought about the visual problems they start developing, which is why he made plans to integrate a special type of lighting in the house. Since vision declines after a certain age, Sheraz made sure to integrate a special lighting in the walls all over the house. This lighting system he integrated is made specifically to reduce glare while providing enough light for people to safely perceive their surroundings. In a way, that lighting system is similar to fluorescent but with more practicality since the targeted users are supposedly having less visual acuity than normal. In fact, this was also made to suit the needs of even people with severely bad eyesight since it would enable them to perceive their surroundings to a significantly higher extent than they can in dim light or with usual lighting.

Other than these very specific modifications, other simpler ones were made to help and protect the inhabitants of the house, and these include getting rubber grips for faucets to avoid injuries, installing grab bars in the bathrooms to help reduce slipping chances, and even installing smart lock systems, since this would help improve the residents’ sense of safety especially with their reduced mobility, and it would also, at the same time, enable the residents’ caretakers to be able to keep a watchful eye on them especially if the residents suffer from diseases like Alzheimer’ which might put the residents at risk if not cared enough for.

On top of these modifications, a built-in system to get access to all kinds of support and/or medical help is installed into all these houses. In a way, it is a form of system that would enable the residents to get access to any help they might need which, in case of emergency, might even be able to improve survivability of the residents. Basically, this system, along with the other modifications, would also make the elderly and disabled residents feel safer and more at ease despite any kind of impairment that they might have due to age, sickness, or any other reason.

So far, this project has received positive reviews and feedback which is why Mr. Sheraz Khan is quite excited about what the future is holding for this project and the further updates he is going to involve in the making of future versions of it.

Marlow stated that the COVID-19 vaccine does not mark an end or decrease in cybercrimes. This is because an entirely new round of phishing related to the vaccine and medical products will likely be created. These attacks are used as ways to steal important personal and company data.

Ian Marlow added that many businesses have seen financial benefits from employees working from home. Many employees are continuing to work remotely or in a hybrid of at-home and at-office work. This substantially increases remote work from inside and outside the corporate network. It also means bringing your own devices, which can bring about other cybersecurity issues.

This means they will likely continue functioning in this format or with several work-at-home days per week. Marlow suggested cybercriminals will continue to develop more ways to attack these work-at-home systems.

Marlow concluded that it pays for companies to focus on increasing cybersecurity now and in the coming years. Data breaches during the pandemic averaged $21,659 for a single incident, with 5 percent of incidents reaching $1 million or higher.
